I booked the Campanille Hotel at the Airport in Nice, France because it had a free shuttle. Unfortunately, I just found out that the shuttle service doesn't begin until 6:30 am. I need to be at the airport at 5am, and don't know if I will be able to find a taxi at that hour. Someone said it is 19E for a taxi! I know the airport is very near but one person on Trip Advisor said you can't walk there because it is all highways with no sidewalks. Someone else said it is a 5 minute walk. Is it possible to walk there, and if so, how far is it....how long will it take dragging luggage?
I would ask the hotel desk to arrange a taxi to get you to the terminal, and pay whatever it costs. At that time of the day you will be dragging more than your luggage if you walk there. The taxi driver will know exactly where to take you.
Carol I suggest you do as Monte suggests, we flew out of the Nice airport last summer ( 2012) and I do not recall it having nice sidewalks up to it, plus it has two different terminals and we got dropped at wrong one and instead of walking to other one waited for bus( and we are not lazy) because as I recall there was no proper pedestrian path.. I may be wrong, but seriously at 5 am its dark and you will have luggage, walking along a roadway is not brightest idea. 19 euros is not going to break your holiday budget if you allow for it now and just skip a few starbucks now.
