Has anyone been to this beer garden? If so is it in a forest-like preserve area that looks down unto some river that you couldn't really see very well due to the foliage? A neat setting though. I recall walking a bit of a distance from the respective train through a pretty upscale neighborhood. Many Porsche cars in driveways. I'm not sure if this was the beer garden we visited in June on Sunday morning but the weather was so terrible it didn't open that day. I'm preparing our next Munich trip and do not want to repeat our itinerary. Thanks.
Jerry, it's not "GroBhesselohe" but Grosshesselohe (that funny letter stands for a sharp or double "s".) So, what is your question here? Do you want to know where it is so you can revisit it or avoid it? I wasn't sure what you meant. Here's a link to their website "Waldwirtschaft Grosshesselohe" http://www.waldwirtschaft.de
There's a map and directions, albeit in German but maybe you can figure them out. Waldwirtschaft can be translated as Forest Inn.
I think Jerry's related to Clark (StraBe) Griswold. ;o) If you want to type the letter correctly (ß), hold down the Alt key and type 225 on the numeric keypad. Otherwise, "ss" will suffice.
Anna, I'm not sure either. Maybe JERRY wrote in a secret code, which would be very appropriate ;-)
(not far from the Waldwirtschaft is the HQ of the BND, i.e. the German foreign intelligence service...)
