I will be driving a car in France later this year and would like to know if anyone has used the VZ Navigator Global GPS software as a driving aid. I use this in US and like it on my Blackberry, but have some trepidation about counting on it in France. Thank you in advance for any replies.

I wasn't familiar with this service so I looked it up. According to Verizon it works in Europe.

Dave, I believe the VZ Navigator uses the cellular data network at least partially, for things like downloading Maps and other information. If you're using an older Verizon BlackBerry, it may be CDMA only and therefore may not even be capable of accessing GSM networks. If it will in fact operate in France, you'll need to be extremely careful if roaming on the cellular data network, as HUGE bills can result I would highly recommend that you check with Verizon for specific details and costs for travelling with your BlackBerry in Europe.
