Hi, I have a general question about booking train tickets on SNCF. According to the options i have at the end of booking. I can either: 1. pick up the tickets at the station with the automated kiosk. or 2. have the tickets mailed to me. I obviously can not use option 2 since we live here in the US. But under number 1, it specifically said no Amex, and no foreign non-chip and pin type credit cards. How do one go about booking it on sncf and pick up the tickets with the American none-chip and pin card? Thanks~

how are the lines at the ticket window at the end of aug and beginning of sept? should we go to the station extra early (an hour and a half before departure)?

The lines do not take that long at most SNCF stations.
Pick them up at the window, as the machines don't take US credit cards. But there will be a guichet open. If you're in paris, go early.

Yep, Bloise isn't the same as a super-busy station in Paris; there shouldn't be any problems with long lines there. IF you have several trips worth of tickets to pick up, you can do them all at once, too! BRING THE CREDIT CARD YOU PAID WITH!!! I cannot stress that enough!!! If you book on tgv-europe.com (same difference, but in English!), they will tell you that most North American cards won't work in the ticket machines, but that you can go the the ticket agent and give them your confirmation number and credit card to collect your ticket(s). I've done just this thing; it's easy-peasy!

yes, I forgot that! BRING THE CREDIT CARD YOU USED
and copy down the conformation. It's simple and quick.
