Visiting WW1 sites in Ypres (Iper) Belguim

I plan to visit Ypres this fall before a river cruise that begins in Amsterdam. one option I am considering is to fly into Paris, then train to Bruges through Lille. Any recommendations would be great. Thanks in advance.

June, I was there last fall with a RS tour, and found the visit very moving (especially for Canadians). The Hill 62 Museum & Trenches were especially interesting. I'm not sure if this is the company that provided our tour for that area, but you might contact This firm to see whether that might work for you. Their "Standard Tour" is much the same as the one provided for our group. Our local Guide, Jacques, was outstanding! For transportation from Bruges to Ypres, train would probably be the best option. There's a departure at 07:47, arriving Ieper at 09:20 (time 1H:33M, one change in Kortrijk). That should be adequate to get to Ieper prior to the 10:00 tour departure time. Happy travels!
