Do I need to make a special reservation to view the newly restored opera house at Versailles or is it open the same hours as Versailles and visitable freely? I have gotten conflicting information about this point, and I want to find out the correct information as this is something I really to see. Some people have told me that I do have to make an advance reservation and have to have a guide (either private or a Versailles guide.)

Last summer we got to visit the opera house, we took a guided tour, and that day on the schedule was: the opera house, Louis XIV, XV, XVI private apartments. From what i understand the schedule changes daily, you can only visit the opera house on guided tours, so i would email them and ask for a schedule. It is worth it, very beautiful!
