We are traveling in Provence and the French Riviera in early June. We have booked rooms for Arles and Nice, but would like to just drive and explore the hills of Provence without a set itinerary and hotel reservations for 4 days (M-Th). Are we nuts? We traveled w/o reservations in Europe years ago and loved the freedom. Can it still happen, or does everything have to be nailed down?
