We'll be near Genoa, Italy in June, and my daughter wants to see the lavender fields of Provence. How far west will we have to travel to see them? Any suggestions for a good place to stay in Provence to enjoy the lavender?
We'll have a car, but if the drive is too long or difficult, we'll consider taking a train and renting a car in France.
I drove from Villeneuve-les-Avignon to Nimes and hated it. My husband has driven in Tuscany and Umbria, and would probably assume driving duties this entire trip.
Sounds like a plan! We're also thinking of starting in France and driving east to Italy. What would be the best way to get to Vaison-la-Romaine in that case? Fly into CDG and take a train to Avignon? Or better to fly into Marseille or somewhere in the south?
