Visiting and tasting wine in Spain

This is my first trip to Spain. I will be spending 2 weeks. 5 day Madrid. 4 days Mallorca. Then back and 5 days in Toledo. While in Toledo I want to visit the areas wineries (bodegas) since I collect wine. In doing my research nothing gives me a clear process on how to visit. I know each region has its quirks. I have sent emails to the wineris but do not get a clear answer and I am not a fan of guided tours. So my question is... Can you just visit and taste? Do you have to have a reservation just to taste?
Avg cost to taste if any? I am used to CA and French wineries where most you can just walk in and taste if this is the case in Spain great.

My experience is a bit limited, but the two wineries I visited in Spain required reservations. Check for websites for the wineries you want to visit. They will probably have English translations that will tell you what they require.
