visit ti switzerland

I am 67 yrs old and wife 60 with knee joint problem.Presently in Belgium.Wish to visit Switzerland and have two nights and three days.
Can any one guide me if I should stay in Zurick or Interlaken.Can we take day tour for Mounttitlis.Will it be safe.Any trip possible from Interlaken

April is usually one of the worst months to visit the Swiss Alps, but it doesn't sound like you intend to do any hiking, so go for it! A better choice than Zurich (you can barely see the Alps from here) would be Interlaken. The tourist industry in the mountain villages above Interlaken virtually shut down in April and early May, but you can still take the cable cars and trains to visit the mountain summits. It's a roll of the dice, however, if you get a good view at this time of year.

Zürich is just a big, Western-type city. Not really that worthwhile. However, Interlaken or Luzern are much more what you're probably looking for and Engelberg, the base village to take the cable car up Mt. Titlis is doable as day trip from both. From Interlaken you can also take the train via Lauterbrunnen and Scheidegg up to the Jungfraujoch, the so-called "Top of Europe" with stunning views all the way to even Mt. Matterhorn.
