I was wondering what vineyards we could go for 2 days from Paris? Would love to get a feel for the vineyards and do some wine tasting. Suggestions please.
Burgundy has a serious wine scene that also manages to be accessible. Beaune makes a great base. To see vinyards, a car is helpful, or a bike (good rental place in Beaune). Works as a stop between Paris and Switzerland, Provence, or Italy.
I'm interpreting your question as being for a 2 day trip from Paris and then back. If so, Burgundy would be my top choice. Reims is Champagne country and I think tasting Champagne is entirely different than tasting other wines. The Loire is an option but its wineries are scattered and are highly specialized varieties.
In Burgundy you can taste some of the world's best reds and whites. Beaune has a number of tasting rooms and wine bars. But if you can get out into the country nearby you can get to the best whites (Meaurseult, Puligny Monchrachet) in minutes by car and some of the best reds in the Cote du Nuit just to the north. And in the small towns you'll find wonderful restaurants to sample Burgundian cuisine. Burgundy is the home of escargot, among many other delights.
