How far is it to walk from the Avignon Centre train station to the Villeneuve Les Avignon tourist office?
Is it a big road with lots of cars? Are there sidewalks along the road to walk on? Is it up hill?
How long to walk? Is it safe to walk during the night?
No. We are arriving from Arles so we are going straight to Avignon Centre train station. I understand the bus from the Avignon Centre train station to Villenenuve Les Avignon stops around 7:30 pm. We are coming in later so just wondering how we can get to our hotel which is in Villenenuve Les Avignon. Taxi probably available but costly. So was wondering if it was walkable and is it safe to walk at night especially with some luggages.
Ok. Re your last post, here's how to determine the distance:
go to this online map
input the best, full address you have for the hotel, from their website (this is important, French street addresses can be tough to pin down on online maps)
then click search
that should take you to the hotel
then look for the Centre train station, on the map, (hint: long bldg where train tracks converge, not too far south of the Papal Palace)
estimate the distance, by using directions, from & to feature of GoogleMap, there's an option you can click for it to give you Walking directions and walking times.
Print out map & bring with.
