We will have a car for a week and want to visit some of the small beach towns of southern Spain (Andalucia area). We pick up the car in Seville and drop it off in Granada. Can anyone recommend some of the small beach towns (or otherwise) to see and places to sleep? This will be mid-Sept. Thanks!
We did the same thing two years ago - only starting in Granada and ending in Seville. We stayed for the week in Gaucin, a very small white village that was lovely. We made day trips to Ronda, Arcos de la Frontera, Gibraltar and a couple of other white villages that RS recommends ( but I can't remember right now). Ronda would be a great place to spend the night. We also spent the night in Arcos and it was a great overnight spot. We didn't spend too much time around the beach, so I can't really give you guidance on those areas. The beach towns we saw were really large and impersonal - lots of high rise apartments, golf courses, freeways, etc. We really loved the small white villages and I would highly recomment you spend at least some time visiting some of them.
We were there the end of September into October and the weather was lovely.
