Villa Rental Suggestions in Tuscany

I am looking for villa rental suggestions in Tuscany to be shared by four couples. We are looking at the last week of September maybe first week of October.
Yes there are sites to research, which we are doing, but thought some of you might have had some personal experience.

Mike,
We are going to be in Tuscany for a week in June. I have looked at what seems like 1000s of villas and found one for a great price and a great location. This is in the town of Radicondoli. It's a farmhouse built into the town wall, but it looks quite adequate inside and out and the location was just we were looking for. Hi Mike, We have stayed at a villa in Tuscany on 2 different occasions. The name of the place is Montestigliano. It is near Sienna. Very centrally located. The 1st time we had a party of 12, the second 24. They have several villas with several different configurations. The largest holds 12. Susan the manager is Welch so speaks English and is very helpful with reservations. We would highly recommend it. www.montestigliano.it. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Doris,

You might want to look at the Slow Travel website. There are many reviews of apartments all over Tuscany by slow travel members. I have found it a great place to start an apartment search.

My husband & I, along with another couple, traveled through Tuscany in late September of 2009, we stayed in Impruneta at Relais Villa L'Olmo, it was fantastic. Although we rented a 2 bedroom apartment, I am quite sure they have larger accommodations as well. Enjoy your trip, Tuscany is amazing . . .
