Are you referring to the wine gardens that sell new wine?
If so we really enjoyed our visit to a couple of them this past weekend. We started the recommend RS walk from Kahlenberg down to Nussdorf. We stopped and had a glass at Sirbu, which has amazing views of the vineyards, Vienna, and the river. A few more minutes down the trail is my favorite one: Weingut Reinprecht (it was right pass the Wien city limit sign). It had a small rustic charm and was in a barn type building in the middle of the vineyards. From there it is about 20 minutes back to the cluster of wine gardens in Nussdorf. The walk is super easy- all down hill and on paved surfaces.
Thanks so much for the info. This is exactly what I'm looking for. Now, I have a map in front of me... where do I start the walk?
Thanks,
Lane
Take Bus 38A from Heiligensadt (U-4) to the Kahlenberg stop. There will be a big plaza when you get to the top. There is a map with the trails marked through the woods and a sign pointing to Sirbu (the first wine garden). You don't take the trail to the left of the sign but the one that is across the parking lot to the right of the restaurant with the nice view.
