vienna travel card good for train from airport?

Don't have personal experience, but according to the card's website, it appears it's good for a 17% discount on the cost of the City Airport Train. Click here for the web info.

We were there last fall and we had to pay extra to take the airport train. Young woman beside us on the train used the travel card and was fined 50 Euros on the spot....The inspector came on board just before the airport.
