Vienna, Prague & Munich for Oktoberfest

I'm planning a trip with one of my best friends to go to Munich for Oktoberfest and want to travel to Vienna and Prague as well. The cheapest flight I could find takes us to Vienna for two nights then to Prague for two nights then to Munich for two nights. I know it is cramming in a lot into 6 days but we're young (23) and don't plan on resting too much! We have a friend to stay with in Munich but can anyone recommend accomodations that are reasonably priced (approx. $100 USD per night) and are in a good location? We are also looking for things to do/must-sees/ok-to-eliminate for the sake of time so if anyone has any recommendations I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks :)

I doubt you will find much of anything for Oktoberfest this close to the event, let alone for $100 usd. I booked months ago at Motel 1 (cheapest)and it was 140 Euros per night.

Thanks for the reply however, I don't think I made myself clear in my original post. The accomodations and recommendations for things to do is strictly for Vienna and Prague. In Munich we are staying with a friend and have that portion of the trip planned out pretty well. So if you or anyone has any insights into Vienna and Prague (two nights each), I would greatly appreciate the advice!

Amanda, check out Rick Steves' tour books for Vienna and Prague. You'll be able to get a copy of his books at either a book store, library or you can purchase them online on this website. He has several listings for accommodations in those cities. Have fun on your trip.

Amanda - I have a similar trip coming up. I have been to Munich for Oktoberfest once before. I have never been to Vienna or Prague. In Munich, I suggest going to outdoor market near the old square. The Glokenspiel is nothing to write home about - however it is symbolic of Munich, so you will be glad you saw it when it appears in movies or tv shows. This time, I plan on going to the Residenz and Dachau which I didn't have time for before....too much time in the beer tents. ;) I would skip the Deutches museum if I were you.

As for the others, my guess is as good as yours - but I plan on hitting the wine gardens in Vienna and the beer gardens in Prague. Call me the Thirsty Traveler. Vienna I am not having trouble sketching an intinerary together....but with Prague for some reason I am. We shall see.

We should compare notes when we get home. I am very excited!
