Vienna opera tickets

My wife and I are going to be on the Rick Steves tour in September and want to attend a concert at the Vienna Opera House. Is there a good secure web site to obtain tickets in advance? There are a lot of web sites for Vienna concerts, so looking for a recommendation as to the best one.

There are a lot of web sites for concerts in Vienna (asa elsewhere), you need to Google the "Vienna State Opera" and get their actual site, not other ticket agents. Saving you the trouble, it's www.wiener-staatsoper.at/ You can then English, see the schedule;e, order tickets, a tour of the building, and so on.
This same approach should work for any of the great orchestras, opera companies, and halls.

Rich , Be aware that the Vienna state opera and the Vienna Philharmonic are the same orchestra. Depending on how the season is arranged will determine whether a concert or opera performance is scheduled . Happy travels!!

Thanks.I was able to get tickets to the Vienna Opera House for the extra day we're staying in Vienna after the tour. Actually, the ballet "Romeo & Juliet" will be performed. What is the usual attire? Rick's packing guide doesn't include sports coats or suits, and the comments on the graffiti board have mixed comments: Some say it's "casual," such as nice button-down shirt (but no jeans, of course). Some say it's more formal

Packing a light weight sport coat and a tie is not a bad idea. Europeans do like to get dressed up for these occasions. Throw on a coat and tie and Voila! your presentable, if not quite ready to make the cover of GQ.

Thank you, Sam. Will include a sports coat.
