I need to get from the Vienna International Airport to Klosterneuburg. Someone told me that a taxi from the airport directly to Klosterneuburg will cost something like €40 (but they weren't positive about the price). At first I thought that it might be cheaper to take the train to Vienna, then a cab from there, but I see that the train itself costs €12. Not sure what a cab would cost from the city center. Also, I wasn't sure if the cab prices from the airport were fixed or if it might depend upon which taxi driver you get. If anyone can comment on this matter I would appreciate it. I am looking for the cheapest and reasonably efficient way of getting from VIE to Klosterneuburg (where I am meeting a friend, who will then drive me -- so renting a car is not one of the possibilities here). The City Airport Train (CAT) costs 12 Euros; the real train (S7) costs 4 Euros. If you want to go cheap - take the S7 from the airport to Wien Mitte/Landstrasse. Then get on the U4 to Heiligenstadt. At Heiligenstadt, get on a bus to Klosterneuburg (note there are several stops, so coordinate well with your friend in advance). Your 4 Euro ticket will cover you all the way to Heiligenstadt; you will need to pay the bus driver an additional couple of euros to get you to Klosterneuburg. If your friend is really nice, they would pick you up in Heiligenstadt which is just a short distance from Klosterneuburg.
