All the usual places like K and T are full, can anyone recommend a place maybe a bit outside the centre close to train or bus station. A beer garden would be great too so I can have a few beers after a rough day of sight seeing...

Hi, A brand new big hotel opened up at Westbahnhof which I saw this summer...Motel One on Europa Platz. It's connected to the train station. I like staying in the Westbahnhof area, several other big hotels and some Pensionen are located there, plus two U-Bahn lines stop at Westbahnhof, #3 and #6, as do several tram lines.

What's your price range? I was pretty happy with the Zum 900 Oper for how cheap it was, it was walkable to Karlsplatz (15-20 min), also had an u-bahn stop nearby on the U-1 line, and strassenbahnen right in front of the hotel. No biergarten, but it's no problem to grab a bier from a wurst stand and drink it outside the hotel on the porch with chairs and tables provided. But it was also a budget option, if you have more money to spend (I think we paid under 100 euro/night) I'm sure there are better. We also got it because it had A/C.

Hi, Where to get the Wurst...look for "Wüstelstand" in Vienna. In Germany it would be "Imbiss" or "Schnell Imbiss."

My favorite stand is the one in front of the Albertina museum, behind the Opera house. Their wust was outstanding! Good beer selection as well, open late late late.

We have decide to stay in Melk and ride the train in. Hotel Zur Post. I will be enjoying a wurst and beer in Vienna!!!
