We are a group of 4. Need hotel in city near train around $125US. Want to stay near restaurants and bars so we don't have to ride the train at night. We are going to be in Vienna for 2 days. Did anyone see something that was unexpectedly good. What were your highlights?

I’ll highly recommend Pension Suzanne, about half a block from the opera house. We had a quad room there in 2006…believe the rate then was around €100 - €120. You may have a tough time finding a less expensive lodging for four in Vienna. Check out their website and tripadvisor…receives great reviews and very high marks.

We have stayed in K&T Boardinghouse, a 10 minute walk from the train station on the main road and close to Ring. The owner is very nice. If you are into art, there are several art museums with great collections, the palace, treasury and then there are world-class pastry shops.
