A friend and I will be spending 3 days in Vienna and would like recommendations for conveniently located and nice hotels there

This is where I'll be staying for the second time in July: Hotel Goldener Baer, a hotel near the Ring with a streetcar stop outside the door. The website is http://www.goldbaerhotel.com/ The price is right, but the accomodations are not luxurious. I booked this modestly priced hotel to make up for the expensive hotel that I booked in Karlovy Vary. Also, Vienna is expensive enough; I'd rather spend my money on Sacher torte!

We stayed at the K & S Guesthouse - really just a small, family run pension. Very nice and centrally located - 2 or 3 stops from the Westbahnhof, where the airport bus brings you. We're going back in July.
