I'm going on a Danube River trip this summer, and would like to visit Schonbrunn Palace. I use a walker and wheeelchair. Will I be able to get around in the Palace. Aslo, can you give me information on accessibility of other sites in Vienna?
Marilyn, I was just at Schonbrunn the other day and there is a small tram that goes through most of the grounds. I did not go inside the palace, so I cannot give you information about that. The grounds alone are worth a visit and are free. I would suggest getting in touch with them by phone or on their website to find out more information about the interior. Good luck and enjoy!

Thanks, Sam. I'll look for the website. Do you happen to have it?
hi marilyn,
we went with a stroller to schonbrunn (similar concerns to having a wheelchair i think) and got back last week. the palace is actually quite easy to get around in. when u get there, they will escort u to the elevator which takes u up. once you are done, tell someone and they will escort you to the elevator that takes you down. not a problem at all in the interior. the outside is also reasonably easy to stroll around. there is a portion that goes uphill so you don't have to go up if it is an issue. still good to enjoy the nice gardens.
have a great trip!
