Vienna (Wein) over new years eve

We are going to be in Vienna over new years eve. Can anyone tell us where is the best place to stay to be near a nice new years eve fireworks or events? If we can find a reasonable flat we will do that. We would be there for 5 or 6 days. Thanks.

Vienna is the best place in the world for New Year's. People will be dancing the blue danube waltz in the streets! Great place is just outside the Rathaus (town hall).
