Very specific question about Leipzig Opera performances

I'm going to be in Leipzig for a couple days in April, and I'm thinking of hearing Parsifal Good Friday. But it's a long opera, and I'm diabetic, so I need to plan ahead when to eat, etc. Can anyone with experience at the Leipzig Opera in particular tell me if they offer any kind of refreshments at intermissions other than beverages? E.g., sandwiches. I posted this question on the Leipzig Opera's website using the usual "contact us" link, but I never got a response. Naturally, I'll be prepared if I go. I know how to do that! But I'd love to know ahead of time about what I'm going to encounter. Thx. operafreak

Tom, if you don't get a satisfactory reply here, you might try tripadvisor in the Leipzig forum.

Tom, I just called the director of visitors' services at the Oper in Leipzig. She said that there's a restaurant on the premises plus various other places on the levels of the opera house where you can get something to eat during intermissions. She said you can order a meal at the restaurant in advance, I guess that means make a reservation, but you don't have to. The number I called is 011-49-341-12 61 261. I talked to Ms. Gabriele Seichter. I forgot to ask if she speaks English.

Anna, Thank you very much for that help! Inf act, I do speak some German so if I get that far in my planning, I suspect I'll do all right! Tom
