versailles hotel

We are planning to stay in Versailles for one night. We will arrive by train so don't need to worry about parking. Can anyone recommend a hotel or B&B? Also, does anyone have experience checking bags (small carry-ons) at the palace entrance? Thanks

I have stayed at the Hotel Ibis across from the train station (the RER / Versailles Rive Gauche station). It is a great location from both the train station & to the chateau. It's a chain hotel, but very adequate.
