My wife & I are planning a trip to Beaune for a friend's wedding & we want to sneak over to Venice before the wedding. What are the best options for traveling to Beaune from Venice?

Your options are drive, take the train, or fly. I would drive rather than take the train, since you'll have so many connections. Then you can stop where you like or press-on if you need to get back earlier. Flying might be a good option instead. Lyon airport is just south of Beaune and actually has quite a few connections to various other parts of Europe. You may be able to find a good time and priced flight to Venice. My choices-fly first, drive second, train third.

Thank you for your reply; however, I don't see how a flight into Italy & out of France solves my issue of getting from Venice to Beaune. Do you have a suggestion for that leg of the trip?

There is a through night train from Venice to Dijon, though it arrives before 6 AM. Couchette and sleeper service available.
