I would allow at least 3 - 4 hrs not including travel time. We've been there twice and really enjoyed it. Don't know if RS mentions it, but they have a really nice cafe with good food and a really nice gift shop as well as everything else the book describes.

The lay out of the gardens is amazing. You can rent a golf cart or hike them on foot.
