Has anyone had experience with renting a cottage or apartment in Provence? I am looking for something in or near St. Remy but any other suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you!
I rented a cottage in Maubec, which is in the Luberon. I've had good luck using both Homeaway.com and VRBO.com. Suggest you get a good map of Provence to chart out where you want to go, then look at internet listings of houses within that area. We covered a lot of territory between the Camargue and Chassis and St. Remy from our house in the Luberon.
I think we will do St. Remy. I will check out those sites. I wasn't sure where to begin. Thanks!
Bri - You might try France Homestyle.
Thanks - will check it out!
Bri, We are also going to Provence in late September. I think St. remy is great base. We are looking for a hotel as we will only be there for 3 nights. One other blogger told me about an apartment rental called Les Resources. I looked at it on line and it seems very nice! Beautiful modern interiors...
If you look down to my post "Provence hotel help" you will find the person who posted about the rentals. Good luck, have fun, when are you going?
Thanks! I'll take a look. We are also going at the end of September.
We stayed at Le Petit Reve, an apartment in Lourmarin. Loved the apt. owned by a couple from New York, village was a nice central location for exploring the Luberon with plenty of restaurants for dinners. Our lunches were in other small villages-Gordes and Bonnieux had our best meals. St Remy will be bigger-haven't beem-will go on the next trip-it's a favorite of a couple of frequent posters here.
