Using the TI for a Brussels Hotel Reservation

In Rick's book, he suggests using the TI for hotel reservations. Has anyone tried this for a family of four? We're arriving in Brussels on Monday July 28 for a few days and are trying to figure out our hotel accomodations.

Thanks, Paul

Just spent one night in Brussels two weeks ago before departing for tour of the Ardennes. We stayed at the Hotel Dixseptieme because it was close to Grand Place. The hotel was very nice, with a lovely included breakfast, but no air conditioning, at least when we were there, in case that's a problem for you. Although the architecture of the area is lovely, the city seems very dirty, with significant amounts of loose trash on the streets and even in the indoor shopping areas. We were quite surprised.

Paul,

I like to travel without a lot of prior commitments, so it is very appealing to just show up and see what's available at the local TI..having said that, I will qualify that sentiment by saying that the last thing I want to do upon landing in Europe after many hours in the air is to be out looking for a hotel. Take care of your first nights lodging before you leave home (try trip advisor for a complete listing of hotels). That way your first night in Europe is guaranteed to be less stressful.
