Hello. I am leaving Montreux, Switzerland tomorrow am to Nice, France. I have a reserved TVG ticket from Geneve CFF to Nice Ville. But, I'm confused about the Geneve station. It seems there are two Geneve stations: one at airport and one in the city. First, where is Geneve CFF station and the which Geneve staton does TVG from to go to Nice. Thanks so much for help!
p.s. Montreux is BEAUTIFUL!!!!
If you just google Geneva CFF you will find reference, maps and all kinds of information for Geneva CFF train station.
You are in the French speaking part of Switzerland so when the system wants to indicate you are using the Swiss National Railway it says CFF. CFF is the abbreviation in French. It is the same as SBB in German or FFS in Italian, two of the other three official languages in Switzerland. There are actually 3 stations in Geneva. You mentioned two, there is also one which serves the French railways services from the south side of Lake Geneva. Most long distance trains from Geneva originate and terminate at the Airport but there would be no reason for you to go there. You are after the main station which is where you will arrive from Montreaux. Happy travels...
