I am trying to surprise my girlfriend during our backpacking trip in Europe. A friend was working on setting us up in Epernay/Reims with a cool chateau and dinner, wine tastings and vineyard tours for the two of us, however it doesn't look very promising. I have looked but can't find what i'm looking for.
I want something romantic, we want to eat a good dinner, tour a vineyard, do a champagne tasting, and stay in the countryside. the downside - we have no car and cannot rent one.
Where can we stay? cool bed and breakfast, small hotel. budget is one thing, but I don't want to skimp, but I can't spend $1,000 on lodging for two nights.
all help is appreciated. i'll be there august 16-18
