Two Questions for Paris

Hi all, 1: I've looked around online and have found a few restaurants in Paris that offer a vegetarian option for an entree. Problem: We'll be in Paris on my partner's birthday and I want to take her to a really nice, romantic, well respected restaurant (I wanted to take her to La Fermette Marbeuf, which has been recommended, but alas no vegetarian entree) and a Seine river cruise afterwards. Not having been to any of these restaurants that do offer a veggie option I don't know where to make reservations. If anyone has been in the same boat, do you have a good suggestion for a restaurant? 2: We fly to Nice from Orly airport and I was wondering if there was a reasonable shuttle service to Orly from Paris. We're trying to avoid taking the metro with our luggage and taxis would be pretty expensive for that trip. Looking for a good suggestion. Thanks for any help!

Chris: Take a look at the website of David Lebovitz (just google him). He lives in Paris and writes extensively about his experiences. His website contains loads of great restaurant reviews and recommendations - including vegetarian options. Have fun.

Paris has goo Moroccan food, which can be vegetarian. I would think Moroccan restaurants would have vegetarian options, anyway. Also look for places with Southern French cuisine; they may hav e good ratatouille, for nstance.

La Fermette Marbeuf is so beautiful and the food so good it is a shame not to have the birthday dinner there. Why don't you either phone or e-mail the restaurant and discuss the vegetarian meal question? It can't hurt to try.

We went to Paris with my sister who is vegetarian. Most restaurants had some vegetarian options. And if they didn't, they were very accommodating in coming up with something.

Norma: I know, it looks perfect for the celebration and comes highly recommended. I will try to call and see if there might be an option for her. I did put that request in the reservation online but you don't get a reply and never know if they can accommodate you. I'll call.
Thanks!

Unfortunately we aren't vegetarians so we can't speak to that however when we were in Paris in May we booked a car with the Paris-shuttle.com, for two picked up at the gate we booked for €55. Unfortunately our flight was delayed, 6 hours but that is another story, so we contacted them and the the change cost another €25 cash on arrival. The driver was courteous and knowledgeable. Believe me after the day we had it was wonderful to have someone waiting! They do have another type of transfer available that is not a private car but I am not sure of the cost, you can check the website. Enjoy your time!
