I leave for 20 days on Tue and just hope all is done. Final packing tonight and tomorrow a day of rest. I had to put my dog down today that I have had for 14 years which is really a downer. Just could not leave her here in her condition. Should have done it weeks ago but just could not. So I will take off with that hanging over me but hopefully this trip will be such a positive it will take care of this. Thanks to all of you who have posted help the past several months and I will try to update while over there when I can.

Sorry for your loss but had to do if for my cat before our 2005 trip. I waited until the last minute since I had her for 18 years but it was passed due.

Hi Tony,
Sorry to hear about your loss. We lost our one cat 2 months before our trip in '06 and just recently had to let the other go (she had just turned 19) before this years upcoming trip. Our only consolation is that they had long and very good lives. It will pass and hopefully you'll be able to enjoy your trip.

Tony, This is so sad. I'm very sorry to hear it. I can't think of anyone more enthusiastic about their trip than you. Or anyone more deserving of a great trip. I hope you have a wonderful time!

Tony, i am sorry for your loss. 2 years ago, we had to put our dog down just before our trip, it was a very hard decision to take, and i was a mess. I have to say that leaving for the trip helped me, my mind was occupied with lots of things and while on the trip we were always busy touring around so i had to get myself together. Have a good trip!

Ah Tony, what a hard thing to do. I think most of us identify and grieve with you. Beloved pets are part of the family and when they leave us, well, we miss them terribly. I am a mess when I lose any of my pets, even our guinea pigs, but a dog or a cat are really special. Good friends til the end.

I'm truly sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts are certainly with you at this time. I know how much our canine (and feline) companions become so much a part of our lives and losing them is always difficult.
