We are going to spend the last 5 days of our trip in Prague and Munich(to include one day at the castles). How many days should we devote to each city? Thx

I agree. Two days would be tough in Prague. Three is (to me, at least) the bare minimum you'd want to schedule. Prague is pretty easy to get around, but there's lots to see and do.

I prefer at least 3 full days in Prague, but if you've only got 5 days between Munich and Prague, I would either:
Do what another poster said and only do 1 of the two cities on this trip -- spend all 5 in just one city.
Or... if you must see both on this trip... 3 days for Munich and 2 days for Prague.
(The 3 days in Munich are 1 day doing castles, 1 day seeing Dachau / museums / cathedral sites, 1 day slowing down and acting more like a European on holiday)

I agree with Jim's suggestion of 2 days in Prague and 3 days in Munich (with day trips) or chose one to spend all 5 days in!
