I am headed over to see the tulip parade April 2th. Any suggestions as the best way to see/experience this?

There will be 2 adults and we will be in Holland/Belgium for 10 days. For the first 7, we have a hotel in Amsterdam. I have been on the website for the parade and have 3 tourist books on the event, but there must be an "insiders guide" as to the best way to see the parade. My family did the Macy's Thankgsgiving parade 2 years ago and I can tell you so much because we attended the event vs. what was in the tour guides.

I have been to this parade. Is is not on the scale of the Rose Parade but well done if you enjoy flowers. It is a long parade and we picked a small town on the 40km route. As you see it starts at 9:30am and arrives in Haarlem around 7pm. I believe the web site below should be more exact with the time it arrives in towns along the route. Bands I saw were local community folks, again not like the US but you are not in the US. The information is from the Netherlands Tourism web site.

Have a good time.
On Saturday April 25th at 9.30 hours, the annual Flower Parade will leave Noordwijk to travel its 40-km route, along the main roads, to arrive in Haarlem at about 21:00 hours. The procession will comprise of 20 large floats and more than 30 decorated luxury cars, interspersed with marching bands. There will be plenty of space on the roadside for the hundreds of thousands of spectators who always congregate along the route. Also the Flower Parade will pass Keukenhof, alongside the 'Keukenhof Corso Boulevard' about 15:30 hours. Friday April 24th in the evening there will be an illuminated parade in Noordwijkerhout. The parade and floats will also be illuminated in Haarlem on the evening of Saturday April 25th and they will remain on view in Haarlem on Sunday April 26th till 17:00 hours
