I am using the RATP website to plan out metro travel in Paris, but every time I enter the Trocadero stop, it states that it cannot provide a route because the stop is "fermme" (closed). Does anyone have info on why I am getting this error message on the website. Based on your recent travel there, is the stop closed?
Maryam, I have no first hand experience but it is entirely possible that the station is closed for maintenance, repair, etc. I would trust the web site.
Nevermind. Changed my search words in Google and found the following: Trocadero, the Metro station served by Line 6 & 9 will be closed as follows:
The platforms and transfers for Line 6 will be closed from Jan 5th - March 13th, 2009 and
the platforms and transfers for Line 9 will be closed from March 23rd - May 15th, 2009.
The Metro is upgrading the stations a few at a time. During the construction time the station will be closed. The maps on the Metro walls show the closed stations for whichever line you are on. A solid blue box surrounds the station name on the map.
