My husband & I would plan for a 4 full days journey in Paris, then move ahead to Barcelona for a week. Now, I'm looking for an accommodation, any idea of location would be more convenience for the first time sight-seeing in Paris. Left Bank or South Bank would be better? Should I choose one near around underground station or any better suggestion?
Thanks!
We stayed here and loved it....

The location was great - steps away from the Eiffel tour and Rue Cler. No matter where you stay you will be near a Metro stop. The Metros are cheap, safe and easy to navigate. I would learn them as soon as possible because it makes hopping around Paris a breeze.
Virtually any hotel in central Paris will be within a five- to ten-minute walk from the nearest Metro station. Paris is a great walking city. If you want to stay within walking distance of several major tourist attractions, the Marais district would be a good choice. It's mostly in the 4th arrondissement and is on the Rive Droite (Right Bank).
If you go to www.eurocheapo.com and click on Paris hotels, you can get a list of recommended hotels according to district with a description of each of those districts. The site also has a Paris City Guide section.
In my opinion, you have your time-stay reversed. More time in Paris and less in B. Not much of interest to me in B.
As for location in Paris, I would let the cost and amenities determine that. Transportation is so easy on the Underground you can stay any place.
Google 'Paris hotels' and read about them; then make your choice.
