Need help with reasonably priced nice accommodaion in both places for two nights, I double bedroom and two singles. Any help appreciated.
We stayed at the Ibis hotel in Port en Bessin, about 8-10 km north of Bayeux. It's a nice little port town between the British and US sectors of the Normandy landing beaches. Obviously you need transportation to stay there.
I second the recomendation for Hotel Reine Mathilde. Remodeled rooms (mine had a skylight/roof window dealie), great location. I'd say it was above average for the price.
I am visiting both places at the end of March and Im staying at Hotel Mogador in Bayeux and Hotel Royal Phare in Paris.
I have stayed at Royal Phare before and enjoyed my stay. Its in a great area with Metro stop right at the front door and ATM's next door.
I recommend the Hotel d'Argouges in Bayeux.
Margaret,
Could you provide some idea on what price range you're considering for "reasonably priced"? Also, do you have a preference for which district (Arrondissement) of Paris that you want to stay in?
We stayed at the Hotel Reine Mathilde. Very satisfied.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to give me all the information on France. I was hoping to get decent accommodation from about €100-150pp, or maybe a little less per night.
