We are our taking trip to Bruges for 5 days in November....Does anyone have any moderately priced under (200US) hotels/B&B's that you would recommend? We have a slightly limited budget.... Any tips for saving money ,would be helpful too!
Also thinking about a day trip outside of Bruge.... Any opinions on Lille ,France and/or Ghent via train?
Have you checked out the Rick Steves Guide Book for Bruges yet? We used it to find a B&B there years ago.
We stayed at http://www.royalstewart.be/ this past May and found it to be welcoming. Good breakfast, clean rooms and just minutes from the Markt.
We really enjoyed the Dieltiens Bed and Breakfast (Waalsestraat 40) run by Koen and Annemie Dieltiens. Less than a 5 minute stroll from the Markt Square and a fantastic breakfast. I think there are only 4 rooms and everyone eats breakfast at one big table. We were able to strike up some good conversation and swap travel stories over breakfast every day. I'm not 100% certain, but I think I remember the cost at like 60E to 65E per night for a good sized double with bath. For day trips we had a car and visited some of the monk breweries in the area.
@ Mark from Phoenix- Did you make your reservations in advance online? or call them? This is exactly the kind of experience we are looking for. This will be our first trip to Europe together... I lived in Germany for a year when I was much younger but my husband has never been to Europe.
