Then we took a train to Salzburg, Austria for 2 nights. We had a laundry stop at the Bubblepoint near the train station. It was easy to use and had inexpensive internet available. We took a day trip to Berchtesgaden & the Eagles Nest. This was an easy bus trip. We also enjoyed wandering Salzburg looking for Sound of Music sites, shopping & checking out the outdoor markets and cafes.
Then on to Strasbourg, France for one night. We stayed at a hotel near the train station, which was also close to the cathedral & the old city. Then we moved on to Worms, Germany for our last night. We stayed in a great family-run hotel: Hotel Boos. It was about 5 blocks from the train station. We ate in a great little restaurant nearby, where they found a guy who spoke English to tell us about the town. It was a good experience to be away from tourist areas.
Did you go with a guide or on your own to Berchtesgaden & Eagle's Nest? We're doing it as a day trip from Munich in September.
Thanks!
We went on our own. We took a bus that leaves from across the street from the train station. As I recall, the bus stop was a short walk across the street and to the right as you walk away from the front of the train station. We bought the ticket from the bus driver. We got an all day group ticket that was good for the round trip to Berchtesgaden and back, also for the bus you take to the Kehlstein House base/Obersalzburg Documentation Center.
