I am traveling in October, and my Mom would like to see at least one concentration camp. Any suggestions as to where to fly in, where to catch a good train that might take us all over Germany? We are thinking about getting off and on, can we? Can we stay in cities we like to see the sights? Thanks fellow travelers.

If you are planning to go to Vienna then Mauthhausen Camp is a good place to visit.If to Munich then Dachau is handy.Frankfurt will give you the best airfare in all likelyhood.The Rhine River is excellant and a short train ride from the airport.Bacharach is my favorite town on the Rhine.Munich is great place to spend2-3 days and Dachau is only a short train or bus ride away.
