Hey MK,

Although I cannot help too much with what to see, I can certainly help with the transportation times. Just go to http://www.raileurope.com and enter the two cities to find tickets. It will show you a typical itinerary. You can't check for trips more than two months out, but it will certainly let you know the travel time between each of the two places.

Vienna I can help with, as I have been there. It all depends on what you want to do, but I was there for two and a half days this summer and I probably would have appreciated a little bit more. If you are interested in seeing all the sights, allow yourself about three days to at least see the major things - the Hofburg (winter palace, in the middle of Vienna) which contains the Imperial treasury and the Imperial apartments. Schoenbrunn (the summer palace) is well worth it as well. I would also recommend that you take a look at what Rick Steves has written on Vienna. Most valuable, in my opinion, is what he wrote about taking the tram on the ring-route for a self-guided tour (with the aid of his book). I think this is one of the best things that RS has ever included in one of his guides.

Vienna is a beautiful city, and it is easy to love. Happy travelling!

Hi MK, in a week, I'd do 2 Days in Vienna, 1-2 days in Salzburg, 1-2 days in Innsbruck - to allow some time in the country side from one of those two palces, and couple for Zurich. Just personal opinion - I was not fond of Geneva at all. My least favorite place in Europe so far. FYI, Trains - Rather that using a rail pass, you might be able to do one way tickets much cheaper. I know Austria still allows you to make free stops on your route on some tickets, and Switzerland may as well - others on the forum probably know more about that than I do - but great way to save some cash!

Hi Chris
Thanks for your suggestion. I am wondering abort the transportation in each city (such as Salzburg, Innsbruck),is there bus goes to the interesting place, or rent a car or joint tourist group?
