We are planning a trip to Frankfurt on 21 Oct '13. We've been looking in to accommodations and have found them to be very expensive. I don't see any festivals happening at that time, so why the expense? Am I not looking in the right area? Can someone steer me in the right direction? I will look in to Ibis Frankfurt Centrum Hotel, as suggested in previous post. KEgerton

You will be traveling here the day before 5 Pharmaceutical Trade Fairs begin. This raises prices quite a bit.
http://www.expodatabase.com/trade-shows-europe/germany/frankfurt-main/october-2013/ Recommend either looking for a near-by town where the prices aren't so high, or check with the Tourist Info for rooms, as they often have rooms set aside during events like this.
