1)For non EU residents, what is the most affordable train options to travel within Switzerland and then to Austria in March? There are 5 of us, inclusive of 2 seniors(male-64 years old and female-65 years old). We plan to travel from Milan to Interlaken, Interlaken to Zurich and Zurich to Innsbruck, Innsbruck to Salzburg, Salzburg to Wien and finally Wien to Venice in 8 days. 2)Would the Minimax-VORTEILScard-Ticket be a good option? One of the terms stated is that two people of a small group hold a VORTEILScard. Can the 2 tickets be VorteilScard Senior? Is it valid for Non EU residents? 3)If we were to travel from Wien to Slovakia, is the train a good option or should we consider other modes of transportation. If so, what train tickets should we obtain? Thank you
MS It is important to really think through your trip plans. What is the purpose of your trip? I count 6 trains and 3 countries in 8 days. Is that correct? You will spend all of your time checking in/out of your hotel, packing/ unpacking, going to/from the station, etc. This leaves you no time for sightseeing and only 1 night in most towns. Perhaps you should read RS Europe Through the Back Door to get some ideas on planning a more reasonable itinerary. Good luck! Bobbie
