Travelling from Munich

We will be visiting a friend in Munich soon and would like to visit Paris, Lucerne, and Prague, all by train. Can anyone tell me if there are direct stops to these cities and recommendations on accommodations would be appreciated. We plan to stay in each city for 2-3 days. We also plan to do a lot of walking on these visits. This will be our first experience travelling by train in Europe.

What is a "direct stop"? There is a direct (no changes) night train from Munich to Paris. There are many connections from Munich to Paris with one change, probably in Stuttgart (TGV from Stuttgart to Paris). There are direct trains from Nürnberg and Munich to Prague, as well as some direct (non-stop) intercity bus connections. I think any connection between Munich and Luzern will be direct to Zürich, then another train or more to Luzern.

Thank you so much for the info. Your info was very helpful. Yes, direct stop meaning no train changes.

For some reason, although the routing direct from Munich to Zürich is faster, the Bahn website tries to direct you via Stuttgart or Innsbruck. To force it to show you all of the routes through Zürich, use Zürich Hbf as a stopover. The route through Zürich will have a discount fare available online. When looking for schedules on the German Rail (Bahn) website, enter "Zuerich" as the stopover. That will show you "Zürich HB" (Hauptbahnhof) as one of the options. Use it. If you enter "Zurich" it will try to route you through the Zurich Airport, "Zurich Flughafen". The Swiss spelling of the name is Zürich (or Zuerich), internationally people use Zurich for the airport.
