My husband and I are considering a trip around the Dordogne in February or March, but I'm unsure of an itinerary. Good wine and food, outdoor activities(biking, canoeing) and pretty scenery are the principle interests. I'm not entirely sure February or March is even a great time to go, but that's our timetable. I would like to stay all nights in the same town, if possible. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? :) Probably staying 5 or 6 nights!
Its not going to be an especially nice time to do alot of outdoor activities,, have you looked at the weather, it will likely be coolish and rainy part of the time, and with only 6 days you may hit a wet patch. I think if you want to do alot of biking and canoeing in Feb,, or even early March, you consider another place,, farther south( alot) maybe even another country .
We went thru that area in 2009 with a RS tour (Paris & South of France). Sure enjoyed the area but we went in late summer. You should click on "RS tours, Paris & s/o France, daily literary" to see where they go for some insight into RS thinking for that area.
