Any help on the best way to get to Zermatt from Zurich by train (the Glacier Express?). How to get there, what it costs and where to stay on the way. I know there was a recent accident, will the line be open again by early September?

sbb.ch. The accident was far away from Zermatt and in classic Swiss efficiency, the scene was cleared within a day and the trains were running the next day.

I wouldn't say the Glacier Express is the "best" way to go from Zurich to Zermatt. It is a designated "scenic" train, but it takes considerably longer and costs more than the more direct route, which takes just over 3 hours and costs 113 CHF. How much time do you have for this journey? Do you want to spread it over several days and stop in scenic villages along the way?
