What should we see and do while we are in the area. Traveling with 8 and 12 year old boys who love adventure but are too young for many adventure trips.

There is a Zeppelin museum in Friedrichshafen. It has a mockup of cabins on the Hindenberg, as well as models of all of the airshipes.

Take them for a ferry boat ride. Numerous companies offer excursions from the various ports.

Zeppelin and Dornier museums in Friedrichshafen (do research on Do X as to Dornier), SeaLife in Konstanz, cable car ride up Mt. Säntis, Rhine river falls at Schaffhausen, medival walled old town of Meersburg, half day trip to Mainau island, pre-historic palafitte settlement at Unteruhldingen... More than enough to do for at least a week... When my brother and I were kids we used to spend a week at that lake every year. When our kids are 6 and older we'll take them there as well. Fascinating area!
