Hi, I plan to travel to Chamonix during end Nov., but from rail time table it seem like there are very few train between Annecy & Chamonix. Is this period most of the activity in Chamonix are close ?

Rick Steves' France book says that "Annecy and Chamonix are well connected by trains." In the section under "Transportation Connections" it indicates that there are 8 trains per day, the trip is 2.5 hours with a change in St. Gervais. I haven't made this trip yet but it shouldn't be a problem in late November. We're are considering taking this route by train in January.
